This blog presents sketches, simulations and models from the one week workshop Form and Flow at 1st semester Urban Design Master on Department of Architecture, Design and Media Technology, Aalborg University, Denmark.
The workshop is an intense series of lectures and tooling sessions, with successive experiments, leading to simulations and models with growing complexity in terms of analytical flow performance and phenomenological geometry studies. The aim is to investigate and create performance based flow models, and discuss our understanding of architectural organisation, flexibility, materiality and expression. How do we employ simulation tools to develop more informed and better performing public spaces? How do we understand situated information and how do we adress a fluctuating demand to Topologies ?
The workshop will go through five studies: point, line, surface, volume and node, each building up the information into an architectural model.
